Day #21--Amy--a picture of something that makes you happy

This is a picture recently taken of some of my friends and I acting like a bunch of teeny boppers after seeing the Justin Bieber movie. The night we caught Bieber Fever. Classic!

Day #20--Amy--Someone you love

Ditto Sis! I love this girl!

Day# 19--Amy--nicknames you have and why you have them

Mamy-- I got this one from my nephew Zach. When he was little and first started to talk this is what he called me and Erin still calls me Mamy to this day. To tell you the truth I can't remember the last time she called me by my actual name. Haha.

Pokey-- My dad has called me this since I was little. Not exactly sure where it came from but I remember being jealous of Erin because my dad's nickname for her was Lulu which I thought was much more appealing than Pokey.

Ermy-- Ermy is a combo of Erin and Amy which Erin and I are frequently called by our parents and brothers because often times they can't remember which one we are. Sad story.

Zapita-- Not sure if I'm spelling it correctly but I received this nickname from my friends because my friend Sarah knew of someone with the last name Zapita and they wanted me to marry him so my name would be Amy Zito Zapita which would actually be kind of awesome.

Zito-- Everyone in my family has this nickname. It's just an awesome last name!

Ames-- My brothers mostly call me this. There's not really a story behind it.

Day #23--Things I crave (Erin)

This list will have a few of the same things as my obsessed list

Day #21--A pic of something that makes you happy (Erin)

This pic makes me so happy. It was taken last year in the Dom. Rep. I was asked by my bishop to come help translate with a group of dentists he works with. It was one of the most amazing experiences I've ever had. This is a pic of Randy who had 3 front teeth knocked out when he fell off a horse. He came to our dentists one day in his community, but  Dr. Roy didn't have time to fix his teeth. So, the next day someone from his community drove him to the next spot and he has new fixed teeth. Randy was my favorite. I tried to hide the tears as I saw how wonderful he looked and felt with his new teeth! I will never forget him!

Day #20--Someone you love (Erin)

This one was hard. There are so many people that I love. But this is for my sissy Amy. Love you sis!

Day #17--Someone I'd want to switch lives with and why (Erin)

Wow, this is hard. I can't really think of anyone I'd want to switch lives with. I think, though, if I were to switch lives with someone, I would want it to be someone that lived a completely different life style than me. Not any celebrities or anything, but maybe someone in another exotic country. Or even say an Omish person. That would be fascinating. Just to live their life for a day. See how different their life is than mine. I think it would be very interesting and give so much perspective to my own life. I love different cultures and places. They fascinate me! So...that wasn't a super specific answer, but there you have it!

Day #16--Erin

This pic makes me giggle. I really look like a little puppy in dog house. I have no idea why I posed in it, but I was in Heidelberg, Germany and felt the need. 5 things to describe me

1. Like Amy, I am a goof-ball. It really just runs in the family. We are a silly family.
2. I am a laid back person
3. I am very loyal
4. tender-hearted
5. Easy to get along with

Day #15---IPOD Shuffle (Erin)

Ok, first 10 songs that come on:

1. Rewind---Paolo Nutini  (from PS, I love you)
2. April, Come She Will---Simon and Garfunkel
3. Can't Go Back Now--The Weepies
4. Todo Vuelve a Empezar--Luis Fonsi y Laura Pausini
5. The Last Time--Definit and Young Sim ( Young Sim is a friend of mine)
6. The Fear You Won't Fall--Joshua Radin
7. The Cave--Mumford and Sons
8.I Got A Feelin--Black Eyed Peas
9. Just Say You'll Love Me--Chicago
10.I Could Hold You in My Arms--Ray LaMontagne

Day #14 (Erin)

I am going to skip this one since Amy already posted some pics of the fam. Best family EVER! :)

Day #13--Fav TV shows (Erin)

Wow, I am way behind. Favorite TV shows.....

Well, LOST is over, but was one of my fav. TV shows ever. ( I miss you Sawyer)

Monday nights we watch The Bachelor (guilty pleasure)

Modern Family

Arrested Development

Man vs. Food (I love Adam)

Celebrity Apprentice (this is a Sunday night family favorite)

I used to really like Glee, but I'm so tired of the political agenda on the show each week

Loved the first few seasons of The Office, but I just can't get into it anymore.

I just started watching Off The Map. It's kinda hokey in that it's supposed to be set in Central or South America but is filmed in Hawaii. Many of the so-called Hispanic characters are played by Hawaiians. Don't get me wrong--love Hawaii and Hawaiian people. But hearing them speak Spanish is kinda funny! I like the show, though. It's cheesey and about 50 dramatic things happen each week, but so far I am entertained.

Day #18--Amy--your beliefs

I Believe
...in being happy
...that life is too short
...that I have the best family in the world!
...in Jesus Christ and that he died for me
...that we are all children of God

...that winter should be much shorter of a season
...in not taking yourself too seriously
...in retail therapy (maybe a little too much)
...that I have the best friends in the world!
...in laughing til you cry and crying til you laugh (yes that is a song lyric)
...that life isn't fair
...that people are crazy
...in growing old but never growing up
...in smiling at complete strangers
...in all things girly
...in having your heart broken at least once
...in being spontaneous
...in eating sweets
...that we all have good in us
...in staying up late
...in living life to the fullest
...in treating people the way you would want to be treated
...in dancing (even if it's not well)
...in singing at the top of your lungs in the car
...in screaming "hey ladies" at random men while driving down town
...in challenging yourself
...in having self respect
...in having respect for others
...in having respect for others beliefs
...in being sarcastic
...in cuddling
...in sun bathing
...that Sarah Kitchen will always be my best friend

...in loving yourself
...in me

I have so much more but this is already ridiculously long ;)

Day #17--Amy--someone you would want to switch lives with for one day and why

First of all I would never want to be anyone but myself but if it was only for a day I would have to go with:

Click to view full size image
Taylor Swift!
I know I know it's not very profound of me but I love this girl and I have always wanted to be able to sing (on tune) and play the guitar. Also, it would be awesome to write man hating songs about old boyfriends and sing them to the world. Hehe. It would be really nice though if she was still dating Jake Gyllenhaal. I would love to date that man for a day ;)

Day #16-- Amy--another picture of yourself and describe yourself in 5 words

1.Goofy
2. Playful

Day #13--Amy

Favorite TV shows:

Big Bang Theory
I love these nerds! This show makes my heart happy. So funny!

Entourage
I don't have HBO so some of my friends and I have to wait for the seasons to come out on DVD to watch. We love it so much I'm sure we could watch the whole thing in a day but we try to draw it out so it can last longer.

The Office
[Emmys+-+Cast.jpg]
Even though I don't really watch it anymore seasons 1,2, and 3 were amazing!

Arrested Development
So sad this got canceled! Who would want to "R" her!?! Lol!

Season 11 of The Bachelor
So absolutely ridiculous! But so very entertaining! Makes my Monday nights so much more enjoyable!

The Hills
I can see eyes rolling already but I don't care. I loved this show and miss it so much! The seasons with Lauren that is.

Keeping up with the Kardashian's
These people are so entertaining to watch!

SATC

This show can cheer me up when I'm in the worst mood. The characters are so relatable and fun. In the words of Samantha Jones, "It's slim pickings out there. You can't swing a Fendi purse without knocking over five losers." I love it!

Day #12--Amy--Bloody kisses

Your most embarrassing moment:

I am praying that my parents do not read this. I asked Sarah what she thought I should put as my most embarrasing moment and when she told me what she thought, I told her that that would be too racy to put on our sweet little innocent blog. Then she informed me that it needed to be a little more racy because I was being too boring. So here you go Sarah. I hope you're happy!

So we all know I have a tendency to get bloody noses and I seem to get them at the most inconvenient times. So about a year ago I was dating this guy, we'll call him Temper, and we all know that when you date someone that there can sometimes be kissing involved.

One night we were lip to lip(getting our kiss on). Most of the time I can feel my bloody noses coming on, now that being said I'll jump right into the story(I hope you're ready to have your most embarrassing moment blown out of the water by mine). The scene played out a little something like this...

(Sitting on his couch "watching a movie"... kissing)
Amy:(feeling the blood vessel in my nose start to crack, jumping off the couch I let out a scream)"I'll be right back!"
I rush to the bathroom, I don't even look back to see what surely must be the stunned/confused look on Temper's face. I'm in the bathroom with toilet paper jammed up my nostrils for about five minutes when I hear a little knock on the door.
Temper: "Are you okay, Amy?"
Amy: "Yeah, I'll be out in a minute."

Thirty minutes later... the blood has finally stopped flowing. I make my way back to the living room and plop myself back down onto the couch, trying my hardest to act nonchalant. Temper is looking at me with a look that says "Should I get out a scented candle for my bathroom?". Since I couldn't decide what was worse, him thinking that I had a burrito earlier that just didn't sit right with me or telling him that I had just used a half of a roll of his toilet paper to soak up my blood, I just sat there staring back at him for a minute with a dumbfounded look on my face. Then turned back to the movie. Nothing more was said.

Flash forward a week later(sitting on Temper's couch after a date... kissing). Now earlier I told you that I can usually feel my bloody noses coming on. The keyword in that sentence is USUALLY. This one came like a bat out of... a cave. Since I didn't have the feeling that usually comes, I was a little confused when I felt a warm liquid begin to cover my entire upper lip. I panicked. I shoved Temper and turned away from him. A quick wipe of my face with my hand and I see that there is blood... a lot of blood. I start to make my(what seems to be habitual make-out run) to the bathroom. But Temper wasn't letting me off that easy this time. He grabbed my arm. "Wait, what is going on? Where are you going" Temper asked. He wrapped around to see my face. I was holding my fist up underneath my nose and he asked, "What's wrong?" Turning to look at him now, I see my blood smeared over the lower portion of his face. I wrenched my arm out of his grasp and starting running towards the bathroom, on my way there I awkwardly shouted back an answer to his question, "My nose is bleeding!" After I was able to get my situation under control I came back out of the bathroom to find him sitting on the couch. He looked at me and started laughing hysterically. Apparently Temper gets a real kick out of bloody noses.  I stood there watching him laugh and would have probably started laughing too, if I hadn't been so horrified at the site of my blood still being on his face. I mustered up some courage and shyly stated, "There is blood on your face." His laughter came to an abrupt halt. Any sign on amusement once there was now gone. He then took a turn running to the bathroom. He soon returned and we both laughed somewhat awkwardly. Not much time had pasted before we were sitting on the couch kissing again. It has always amazed me how very little can deter a man from getting his mack. And in this case not even blood was going to stop Temper. Not even blood.

Day #12--Most embarrassing moment (Erin style)

Oh dear, I have had so many of these! But here is at least one of the most embarrasing:

So, in early summer of 2002 (when I had been back from my mission a year), I went back to Spain with a friend from my mission, Monique. We also went to Portugal, Switzerland and Italy, but this particular event occured in Madrid. So, Monique and I went to dinner with 2 guys that were in a ward that I had served in when I was a missionary there. They told us they were taking us to an awesome Middle Eastern restaurant. So, we go in and I was in a skirt and these really chunky Steve Madden shoes that were very popular at the time. So, we walk in. Picture the restaurant---you walk in and there is a hostess type person at their little booth and then there is a set of maybe 7ish stairs they take you down and at the bottom of those stairs are all the tables they seat you at. So, I am at the front of everyone and the hostess is taking us down the stairs. Well, I trip on about the 4th stair in my huge, chunky shoes. It's the kind of tripping where you just can't catch your balance because it all happens so fast. So I'm tripping down stairs and the next thing I know I am sprawled across a table right at the bottom of the stairs. Sitting at the table is a couple waiting to get their food. I'm sure it was super romantic until I was laying on their table and they were wondering what they had really ordered. :)  It was humiliating! I can't even tell you! I don't embarrass easily, and I don't blush much, but I'm sure I was about 1000 shades of red. I couldn't even look at the people when I said I was sorry. And it took me about 10 minutes to even be able to look at my friends--especially my Spaniard friends! But it must not have turned off my Spaniard friend too much because he kissed me at the end of the night! :) But...the food really was delicious! Some of the best I've ever had. Cinnamon crusted chicken. It was divine!

Day #11--Erin

So, I promised my dear friend Nicole that this post would be for her since she didn't feel she had a good pic in the first set of pics. So, here is one of several pics we have together. This was taken in May I believe when were in Mesa Verde in Colorado. We were hiking around old ruins. Pretty cool! Nicole is a fantastic friend. She is very loyal, witty, smart and just an all-around great girl! If any guys out there want her phone number, just let me know! Here's to you Tricky Nicky!

Day #11--Amy

Another picture of you and your friends:

Since Erin posted a picture of her with John Krasinski I thought it would only be fitting for me to post a picture of us with our friend Taylor.

Day #10--Amy

Songs you listen to when you are happy, sad, bored, hyped, mad:

Songs I listen to when I'm happy- Anything by Coldplay, Dashboard Confessionals, Kelly Clarkson, Matt Nathanson, Josh Groban, Taylor Swift, there's more but those are the first that come to mind.

Songs I listen to when I'm sad- like Erin, I also listen to depressing songs when I'm sad. As weird as it seems it makes me feel better and I've talked to many that feel the same way. Some of my favorites are; Sometime around midnight by The Airborne Toxic Event, Torn by Natalie Imbruglia, Jar of Hearts by Christina Perri, Cold As You, Last Kiss, Breathe all by Miss Taylor Swift, Maybe by Kelly Clarkson, Breakeven and Nothing by the Script. (Thanks Lindsay for introducing me). Tattoo by Jordin Sparks (Sarah that last one was for you. You know what I'm talking about).

I'm skipping bored.

Hyped- Stronger by Kanye West, Anything Lady Gaga, Animal by Neon Trees, Bleed It Out by Lincoln Park, Encore by Jay-z and Lincoln Park.

Mad- I also love to listen to angry girl music when I'm mad but when I'm really mad I like to listen to more heavy stuff like I Don't Care by Apocalyptica, Pretty Handsome Awkward by The Used.

Day #10---songs I listen to (Erin)

Hmmm, songs that I listen to when I am sad---I know this is weird, but I like to listen to sad songs when I'm sad. Especially after a break-up. Some of my favorite songs are "Lost" by Little Big Town and also "Kiss Goodbye," also by Little Big Town. They have lots of good sad songs. Joshua Radin also has great sad love songs. And I like to listen to some sappy Spanish songs as well.

When I'm angry---I love to listen to the angry women artists--angry Pink, angry Kelly Clarkson, angry Taylor Swift and angry Carrie Underwood.

When I'm happy I like to listen to happy upbeat songs. Or also when I need some energy. But I usually like to listen to songs that fit my mood!

Day #9--Quotes (Erin)

I love quotes! Hopefully I can limit them to a few. Some of my favorites:

"If you love something very much, let it go free. If it does not return, it was not meant to be yours. If it does...love it forever."

"Help thy brothers' boat across the sea, and lo, thine own has reached the shore."
                                                                                    -Hindu proverb

"Being humble mean recongnizing that we are not on earth to see how important we can become, but to see how much difference we can make in the lives of others."
                                                                                     -Gordon B. Hinckley

"We must be willing to let go of the life we have planned, so as to have the life that is waiting for us."
                                                                                      -EM Forster

"I believe in Christ as I believe in the rising sun; not because I can see it, but by it I can see everything else."
                                                                                      -CS Lewis

I love CS Lewis! There are so many more quotes I love, but there are a few!

Day 8

Oops, I accidentally mixed those up. I'm gonna go ahead and blame that cold medication! :) I can't put up someone that has had the biggest impact on me either, so I am just going to post a pic of my entire family. They are my best friends, biggest supporters, least judgmental and silliest people in my life. They love me no matter what and I love them no matter what. We are a crazy bunch, but we are fun!

Day #7--Fears (Erin)

I have many of the same fears as Amy. I am afraid to death of snakes. Even if they aren't poisonous at all. They creep me out. I'm not really afraid of spiders at all---I actually feel kind of sorry for them. I think the poor spiders have a bad rap. Most are just harmless. But I hate snakes. They give me nightmares.

I am also afraid of heights. Especially when I'm hanging upside down at that stupid ride at Lagoon with water shooting up in my face. I hate that ride.

I can swim, but I have a fear of open water. If I can't see the bottom, it freaks me out!

Day #6--Favorite Super Hero (Erin)

I am behind on these. So, I am catching up since I am sick in bed and bored out of my mind! I would have to agree with Amy on this one.  Batman is also my favorite. I love that he is hot and mysterious. That is all!

8.2.11

Day #9--Amy

Favorite Quote/Quotes:

“For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone.”
--Audrey Hepburn

"Even if you’re on the right track, you’ll get run over if you just sit there."

    --Will Rogers

“Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.”
--Dr. Seuss

"Mediocricy will never do. You are capable of something better."

--Gordon B. Hinckley

"I'm selfish, impatient and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control and at times hard to handle. But if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best."

--Marilyn Monroe

"No one can make you feel inferior without your consent."
--Eleanor Roosevelt

Day #8--Amy

Your Fears/Phobias:

I have way too many fears to list all in one post so I have made the decision to only post my top 5. So here they are in random order.

#1

Snakes! Just looking at this picture makes me cringe! Yuck! I'm so terrified of snakes doesn't matter if they are big or just a garden snake they all creep me out. I hate them and am pretty sure they are evil. That's maybe going a little far but whatever! I think I've made my point.

#2

Heights. I think I have a dream of falling at least once a week and it terrifies me!

#3

Water/drowning. As I've said before I can't swim. The water has always been terrifying for me. When I was younger I went to my friend Lindsay's birthday party at a public pool. I told my friends I couldn't swim so they gave me one of those floatation boards and said I would be fine if I just held on to it. Well somehow I let go of it and started to sink. My friends saw this and instead of lifting me out of the water they dragged me underwater to the edge of the pool. It could have only been a couple of seconds but it felt like forever! It was an awful feeling of panic and helplessness that I will never forget.

#4

Public Speaking. I have no idea where this fear came from. It's so funny because I remember when I was little being in primary and they would always ask who wanted to give the talk for sharing time. I would volunteer every time and I think my mother wanted to kill me since she's the one that had to write them. Even for the primary program in sacrament meeting I would always ask for the biggest part. Somewhere between then and now I have developed a huge fear of public speaking. Just the thought of having to do it makes me nauseous.

#5

Needles. I know no one likes getting shots but I seriously hate them with a passion!

Day #7--Amy

A picture of someone/something that has the biggest impact on you:

I can't possibly pick just one person/thing that has had the biggest impact on me. I can not begin to tell you all the people who have had a huge impact on me including my parents, brothers and sister, friends, other family members, church leaders, teachers, etc. So instead I will just spotlight one of the many people who have made a major impact on me in my 23 (almost 24) years of life. And that person is my Grandpa Fawson.
My Grandpa Fawson is one of the most amazing people I have ever known. He is not a flashy man by any means. He is actually quite the opposite. He is one of the most humble men I have ever known. He has never told me how to act or who to be but has taught me about the kind of person I want to be by his actions. He is someone I have always been able to count on and is always serving others. He is such a strong person mentally and physically and is one of the hardest workers on the planet even at the age of 92. I have such love and respect for this man and am so lucky to have him in my life. What an amazing example he is to me and to the rest of my family! I hope I can be half the person he is someday. Love you Grandpa!

Grandpa and I at his 90th Birthday party a couple of years back.

5.2.11

Day #6--Amy

Favorite super hero and why:

Gotta say i'm not the biggest fan of super hero movies/comic books with a couple of exceptions but I will say that I have thoroughly enjoyed the latest instalments of the Batman films and am looking forward to the next one. So therefore Batman wins. It doesn't hurt that Christian Bale has stared in the last 2 films either. Just sayin' ;)

4.2.11

Day #5--Amy

A picture of somewhere you've been to:

About Five years ago our family went on a church history tour. One of our stops was Ontario Canada. Now no offense to all you Canada lovers but to me it's nothing too special. In my opinion it's a lot like the U.S. except colder and more expensive. Two things I'm not a fan of. While we were there we went to Niagara Falls and I must say it was absolutely beautiful! I know this is not the best picture but the pictures we took from the trip were on our computer and somehow got erased :( very sad story. Anyway this is the only picture I could find and it doesn't come anywhere close to doing it justice. When we first got there (the night before this picture was taken) it was pitch black outside and they had different colors of lights shinning on the water fall. It was so beautiful! The next day we went and took a ride on the maid of the mist (see the boats at the bottom of the first picture). We got extremely wet but it was so much fun! Definitely the highlight of being in Canada and one of the many highlights of that trip. Good times!

Pics of Niagara Falls at night. Obviously not taken by me but thought it might be nice to have a visual :)

Days #4 and 5--Erin

My bad habit---shopping. 'Nuff said. I am working on it, but I love shopping so much!

A pic of somewhere I have been. Here is a pic of me in Frankfurt, Germany May 2009. Was I supposed to be there---no. Was it part of the trip plan---no. Did we miss the midnight train from Paris to Madrid. You bet we did! And so Kristy, Adrienne and I had to buy a train ticket to Frankfurt and a plane ticket from Frankfurt to Madrid which ended up being about 200+ euro each. Costly mistake, but it was fun. Auntie Lynne got us hooked up with the Mission Pres. in Frankfurt and they fed us, took us out on the town and let us sleep over at the mission home. Then they drove us to the airport early in the morning. Such nice people! Here is a pic of me and their youngest son in the city. He was so funny. Good times!

Day #4--Amy

A habit that you wish you didn’t have:

Ok so before I answer this question I would first off like to apologize to my blog partner Erin for heckling her the other night to get her blog post up for day 3 when in turn I did not. I had every intention of doing it but ended up playing an all too long game of Monopoly, (worst board game in the history of board games) got home late, totally forgot about it and instead went to bed. That is still no excuse and I majorly failed :( Sorry Er!

So anyway getting back on subject, I was originally thinking I was going to use procrastination as the habit I most wish I didn't have but I talked about that already in my first post and I don't want to be repetitive. I have many bad habits so it wasn't hard to think of another. A habit of mine that has gotten a little out of control as of late has been my bad sleeping habit. I just never want to go to bed. Don't get me wrong I love sleep but the actual getting in bed part is really hard for me and especially lately. I work 3 12's at my job which if you do the math gives me four days off. I really don't have anything I need to wake up for on those days off so I feel as though I can stay up as late as I want and sleep in. Bad idea! Two nights this week I stayed up til 4am and didn't wake up til 11am which I guess isn't a huge deal until Tuesday night comes along and I have to be up at 7am but don't feel tired til 2 or 3am. Anyway It's become a very nasty habit of mine which I (and others) end up paying for (I'm not a very happy/friendly person when I'm tired). I should probably get another part time job to even things out but lets get real that most likely isn't going to happen :)
